Why the name, and a general introduction.

Back in the early 1990's I was having dinner with my brother, his future father-in-law, and my brother's future wife at the Piccadilly Restaurant in downtown Westborough, MA. With the help of my brother I was sharing stories about life growing up in Paris and attending The american School of Paris. Everyone was enjoying themselves and laughing. I realized that we were laughing about my life and stated, "That's not funny, that's my life." I knew then that that phrase would be the title of my book of the stories, or autobiography (or now a blog). I was around the age of 25, a recent college graduate and was sure that my life was going to exciting and full of adventures and interesting stories that people would want to read and enjoy reading about these exploits.
At the age of 45 I see that my view of life was idealistic and full of expectations that had no foundations beyond my own mind. I do not believe that my life is so interesting that the masses would love reading about my exploits. Yet I enjoy telling the stories and I find that there seems to be always be a few or enjoy listening (and laughing) to them [oh no I ended the sentence with a preposition...oh well that is why adding this to it]. So I decided to put the adventures and tragedies of my life here in this blog. Some of the stories have evolved and mutated from the real events and real people. I will try to be discrete and not mention anyone's name or attribute anything illegal or immoral to the people. If some of my friends recognize themselves in the stories, feel free to ask my to modify or replace them. I do not intend to harm, defame or embarrass anyone (except likely myself), and sincerely apologize in advance.
There will be posts which are about events in my life which were very personal and 100% real. Some of the posts might be not appropriate for young or sensitive readers. I will  post a warning at the top of those pages.
The posts will also include poetry that I have written (all 100% my work, unless otherwise cited), photos I have taken, as well as thoughts and rumination based on something like current events in my life. or the wold,
I do not mind if people wish to link to my log, as long as the ask for and receive my permission. Any citations, extractions, or quoting from the blog should be properly cited and credited to myself and this blog. I will do likewise with and sources or citations that I use in my blog.

I hope that people enjoy reading my posts, sharing them with others who might also enjoy the posts. I will participate in and comments and conversations about the posts, but will delete inappropriate comments (not negative but rude, lewd and otherwise inappropriate).
